The Impact of the Components of the Elites’ Political-Economic Communications and the Mass Media on the Political Truthfulness of the Country

Abstract
The present study investigates the impact of the components of the elites' political-economic communications and the mass media on strengthening public opinion and political truthfulness of the country in Tehran. The aim of the study is to determine the political sociability relations; establishing national unity and dialogue among people, intellectuals and government; the effectiveness of self programs and thoughts, attracting public opinion as well as increasing the interactions and exchanges between individuals and the elites' political-economic communications and the mass media. The metho-dology of the research is based on descriptive survey to analyze the correlation. The statistical population includes the professors and students of the political science faculties of Tehran University, Shahid Beheshti University and Islamic Azad University, Science and Research as well as Central branch. 200 people were selected by using Cochran formula and simple random sampling method. Moreover, the related questionnaire was filled. A questionnaire prepared by the researcher was used as the measuring tool, the reliability of which through using Cronbach's alpha was 78 to 86 percent. According to the nature of the measurement scale, the correlation coefficient and regression tests were used for data analysis. The results show that the there is a significant relationship among the political sociability, establishing national unity and dialogue among people, intellectuals and government, the effectiveness of self programs and thoughts, attracting public opinion as well as increasing the interactions and exchanges between individuals and the elites' political-economic communications and the mass media in political science faculties of the case study universities. In other words, by increasing any component of the elites' political-economic communications and the mass media, (P<0/05), the public opinion and political truthfulness of the country will be increasingly strengthened, as well.
