Abstract
The military-security orientations of the Russian Federation and the United States of America have always been of particular interest in analyzing and interpreting international issues in the post-Soviet era, especially during the last decade. In fact, the collapse of the Soviet Union was the end of the Cold War in Europe and the end of the global divisions; as a result of which the various dimensions of confrontation between these two great powers of the world has been considered by the academic circles. Therefore, the present study seeks to address the issue through the descriptive-analytic approach in order to answer this question that what has been the nature of the Russian-American relations and where does it take the international system? To reply this question, by using the offensive realism theory and focusing on the military-security policies of the two countries in various crises, it will be explained that Russia and the United States of America are in a serious opposition path; which can lead to a new Cold War in the international system.
