Abstract
In this article, the author focuses on the profound changes in foreign cataloging and the new international cataloging standard "Resource Description and Access» (RDA), the prospect of which is creating a model of linked data. The experience of Italian translation of RDA is covered and the main problems that have arisen during this work. Among them there are the permanent changes of its text and translation of new terms that define the context of cataloging for the future. The results of RDA development and dissemination in European countries after the EURIG seminar in Riga (May 2016) are presented. The article also touches upon BIBFRAME - a data model for bibliographic description designed to replace the MARC standards.
