The formation of the fund of archived copy of Ukrainian printed publications at Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine

From the first years of existence the National Library of Ukrainian state resolved issues of the funds formation. In October 1918 after the proposal of V. Vernadsky it was decided to replenish library funds with Ukrainian publications. After creating Ukrainian Book Chamber in Kharkiv in 1922 there were began a clear and systematic receiving legal deposit of printed materials, publishing in Ukrainian SSR, to libraries collections. From 1923 the library received two sets of free copies of Ukrainian publications that helped to create the fund of archival copy. From 1926-1927 fiscal year «the second center of legal deposit of Ukraine» (the official name) served as the first bibliographic archival state-territorial base for scientific research.In the early 1950's there were changes at system of fund formation of the library. During this period, the library got only one copy of the legal deposit at Ukrainian language, which was coming into the archival fund. And from August 1959 all documents are printed on the territory of the USSR, came to this fund. In the early 1990's. it was decided by the Administration of Library to expand the chronological limits of archival fund by documents from exchange-reserved fund, depository and fund of special storage that were printed in Ukraine since 1831 and not since 1917 as it was before. An alphabetical directory was compiled for the archival fund copy for the period of 1831-2012 years. From 2008 the archived copies of publications, which were received to the fund, began to register in the electronic catalog of Vernadsky National Library. Today the fund of archived copy of Ukrainian printed publications is a collection of printed materials of Ukrainian publishers: universal books, journals, leaf publications, music and posters. In 2016 it was analysed the new documents received to archival fund at 2009-2015 in thematic, language, branch, species aspects and for categories of users. The condition of the formation and using of this fund demonstrates the need for further professional study.
