Abstract
The article deals with the issues of media influence and attitude of population to mass media. Data of sociological researches that were conducted in the south and east areas of Ukraine by leading Ukrainian establishments and medias, as well as data of monitoring of the internet editions based on the occupied districts of Donetsk and Luhansk areas, and examples of manipulation influence on public opinion with the use of linguistic tactics are presented. The result of monitoring of population trust to Ukrainian mass media are: trust - 26,1 %, does not trust - 43,3 %. In the regional distribution the biggest number of those who trust is in the west, the least - on the east of Ukraine. And on results «Research of media situation in the south and east areas of Ukraine», that was conducted by Institute Mass Information, it appears that the most popular subjects in each of 8 inspected areas are criminal news, accidents and crashes. The article concluded, that research of population attitude to mass media is one of basic indexes for a study, analysis of informative component filling, estimation of public, electorate moods, media literacy, and also further making of public informative policy, ways of opposition to the informative weapon, to manipulation information and others like that.
