Abstract
Soil water erosion is a degradation process with a significant negative impact on the soils in the world and in Bulgaria. One of these consequences is the loss of nutrients, removed with surface water runoff and eroded soil. For the development of sustainable agriculture, preservation of soil fertility and protection of the environment from pollution, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of the use of mineral fertilizers as well as to limit water erosion processes. For this purpose, it is necessary to apply erosion control technologies for growing agricultural crops on slope arable lands. In the present study the influence of conventional and soil protection technologies in the cultivation of wheat on sloping arabale lands on the losses of mineral nitrogen under the influence of water erosion processes, is examined.
