Abstract
This article studies cross-cultural business communication as a risk factor in international business of transnational corporations. The article uses some statistics to show the negative outcome of low level of knowledge of English and foreign culture. In addition, the article considers some characteristics of Eastern and Western business cultures not knowing which can lead to international business failure. The article examines various behavior patterns of Eastern and Western business people, different cultural views on distance and time, and some improbable facts that interlocutors can face in the process of cross-cultural communication.
