Abstract
Material handling equipments are an eminent part of the human life. Cranes are amongst one of the material handling equipment which finds wide applications in different fields of engineering. The present work is an effort to cover complete design and analysis of industrial crane (EOT) of 63T/20T capacity. In this work the stress analysis of four major loads bearing components; lifting hook, trunnion, pulley supporting plate and main girder is carried out. The finite element analysis has been carried out for the rated load condition with some impact factor. Maximum stress and deformation locations were obtained for each of the components to check the validity of design values. The design and analysis results were validated by comparing with literature & calculation results.
