Abstract
Pseudoaneurysm of anterior tibial artery following trauma is a rare entity. We report a case of 45 year old male who sustained a Grade IIIb compound fracture of proximal third of both bones leg. Distal neurovascular status was normal during admission. Patient was treated by wound debridement and external fixation on the same day. Three weeks later patient had severe bleeding from wound site and angiographic evaluation revealed it to be pseudoaneurysm of anterior tibial artery. It was due to bony fragment which injured the vessel. Excision of aneurysmal sac was done by vascular surgeons. Postoperative period was uneventful. Pseudoaneurysm following long bone injury are rare and needs high suspicion to diagnose it. Timely intervention is needed to save the limb.
