Abstract
The article is devoted to the role of language in social life. Language is considered in the context of the constructivist paradigm. Based on the concepts of foreign and domestic researchers (T.V. Chernigovskaya, L. Wittgenstein, N. Chomsky, M. Heidegger), the influence of language on thinking and collective consciousness is interpreted. Attention is drawn to the language determination of social practices. Specific examples of the action of "language games" in the life of modern society are revealed. The conclusion is made about the possibility of evaluating the language both within the framework of radical constructivism and a more moderate approach
