Abstract
Substitution Urethroplasty is the appropriate treatment modality for Long segment strictures ( 2 cms) in the urethra. Several tissues have been used to augment or substitute the diseased urethra. Buccal mucosa, bladder mucosa , intestinal mucosa, scrotal skin ,perineal skin and penile skin are some of the tissues that have been used. 49 yrs male with residual polio underwent Meatoplasty and OIU followed by regular urethral caliberations . He was on regular follow up and eventually developed pan anterior urethral stricture ( Long segment). Median raphe based scrotal skin flap substitution urethroplasty was done as his buccal mucosa showed evidence of fibrosis. Post op follow up so far has given good results. Scrotal skin flaps for Urethroplasty were not favoured because of its hirsute feature which had its own long term complications. We report this case for its uniqueness in using the Non Hirsute Median raphe scrotal skin flap for a long anterior urethral stricture and resulting in a favourable outcome.
