Abstract
Laryngeal Papilloma is the most common benign neoplasm of the larynx. Papilloma disease within the aerodigestive tract is caused by Human papilloma virus (HPV). The disorder is further classified into adult onset RRP (AORRP) and juvenile onset RRP (JORRP). This classification stems from the different clinical patterns affecting child and adult. In children these tumors tend to recur and multiple papillomas may occur on both true and false vocal cord and can produce airway compromise which may require tracheostomy. The morbidity of these patients increased with the use of tracheostomy because the procedure predisposes the papilloma to infiltrate both tracheostomy tract and stoma and cause recurrence. This 13 year old boy presented with a solitary laryngeal papilloma involving right vocal cord, obliterating the glottic chink which is a rare presentation. It was surgically treated with endoscope and microdebrider without tracheostomy.
