Abstract
In this pape r , A po w e r fa c tor c o r r ec tion (PFC) based single e nded primary inductor converter (SEPIC) is used t o regulate DC bus voltage o f voltage so u rce i n ve r ter (V S I) to run P M BLDC motor . Pe r man e n t mag n e t b r ushless DC motor ( P MBLDCM) is used in a ir - con d itioni n g s y ste m s an d runs at r at e d to r que and va r iable spe e d to a c hi e v e e n er g y c onse r vation. Th e anal y sis, design and perf o r m a nce of the proposed PFC conver t er is c a rried out f or a 1 . 2 kW, 1 200 rpm, 164 V PMBLDCM u sed in air - co nd itio n i n g s y stem.
