Abstract

Abstract Cloud computing technology has contributed into new area of distributed computing for computing resources at large scale. The virtualization technology is used for resources to satisfy large number of users in cloud computing environments. It increases resource availability and resources are efficiently allocated to various tasks generated by users. Cloud based system are designed to provide services pay per use model. Users can access the service based on clouds system as per their usage and does not require to invest initially large amount of money in form of equipment, hardware and operational expenses. Cloud computing systems are implemented to support incoming user's requests in various data centres. Load balancing approaches are used to distribute incoming user requests to virtual machines. Load balancing play a significant role in cloud computing system. In this research work, we are proposing necessary steps for efficient load balancer design and implementation in cloud computing environment. Genetic algorithm is being used in proposed load balancing algorithm. User's incoming requests are allocated to best virtual machines. Simulation environment is used to evaluate the proposed load balancing algorithm in cloud sim platform. Simulation results shows that system overall performance and average response time has been significantly improved.
