Abstract
The article deals with the problem of formation of carbonate, silicate, gypsum scaling on the walls of heat-transfer equipment, their consequences and methods of control. The method of chemical cleaning of heat-transfer equipment with sulfanic acid is considered. We experimentally determined the most effective concentration of the reagent. The scale layers affect the economic costs of both the supplier and the consumer of heat. With the growth of scale deposits in the range from 0.1 mm to 1 mm, there is an undersupply of heat, which in turn leads to an increase in fuel and electricity consumption and overheating. The thermal transfer rates of scale are considered, which, depending on the density and chemical composition of the scales, vary widely from 0.06 to 7.0 W / (m · K).
