The Assessment of Scientific Activities Based on Scopus

The bibliometric indicators and analytical tools of the Elsevier Scopus scientometric platform are the basis for expert assessment of scientific performance. The paper considers the main bibliometric indices and analytical tools of Scopus science-based platform Elsevier corporation as a source base for the expert evaluation of the scientific activity. The analysis of basic bibliometric indicators are: Hirsch index, journal ratings and indicators of the influence of the source on publication. The possibilities of using experts in analytical scientometric tools are presented: the SCImago Journal and Country Rank portal and the Spotlight database.
