A rare case of Aural Myiasis with Extensive involvement of Ear canal

Abstract
Myiasis is an infestation of the skin by developing larvae (maggots) of a variety of fly species within the arthropod order Diptera . In the literature, there are only few cases reported about aural myiasis . In this paper we present , a 24-year-old male with left sided foul smelling ear discharge associated with pain and swelling for 1 month duration . Examination of the left ear showed a extensive destruction of anterior ear canal , tragus with larvae (maggots) . They were removed by using a forceps after application of turpentine soaked gauze , Further management included assessment of hearing , computed tomography (CT) scan , IV antibiotics and daily wound dressing for 1 week .
