Abstract
In the article the basic stages of information technology, the definition of information and communication technologies in the tourism and hotel industry, as well as their role and use in the activities of the modern hotel and tourist organizations, as manifested in: a theoretical analysis of the main components, namely, information, communication, information technologies, communication technologies, information and communication technology, process, etc; determining the communication objectives; discussed aspects of the application of information and communication technologies in the activity of the enterprises of tourist and recreational sector; stressed the importance of disseminating information and communication technologies in the tourism industry.
The use of the Internet is an indispensable factor in the productive work of any modern hotel enterprise, since the Internet can offer a large amount of information that is necessary in the work of travel agencies. Such information includes: addresses of hotels, timetables of vehicles and flights, customs and visa rules, as well as various offers of domestic and foreign tour operators. At the same time, it is worth noting that the information received may be different in volume: from small price lists to complete catalogs. In addition, another advantage of the Internet is the ability to receive fairly cheap telephone and email. It is worth noting that connecting to the Internet saves hotels and travel organizations a large amount of money, thanks to the reduction in the production of various brochures, catalogs, booklets and their distribution. Organized management, qualified personnel and automation are the main factors that give a chance to beat the competition and ensure success for any modern tourist enterprise.
