Abstract
The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of increasing doses of urea (0, 2, 4, 6, and 8%) on the chemical composition, in situ degradability, intake and performance of feedlot beef cattle. CP was increased, and NDF and ADF were decreased by increasing the doses of urea. Ammoniation improved DM and NDF degradability. However, intake and performance were reduced when higher doses of urea were used. Ammonization with 4% of urea propitiated the improvement of nutritive value of cotton gin trash and the greatest performance of feedlot beef cattle.
