Abstract

The industry of basic organic synthesis is one of the most important branches of the modern chemical industry. Its value is due to the production of chemical products necessary for the production of polymers, chemical fibers, resins, dyes and other compounds, without which the progress of many industries is impossible. The main raw materials for the production of chemical products are traditionally oil and natural gas, the problem of depletion of which is the main agenda of humankind in the 21st century. In terms of searching for alternative energy sources, as well as raw materials for the chemical industry, researches in the field of coal conversion are very important. Existing modern technologies of coal processing in the future can significantly affect the energy market. The article gives a brief description of the main organic synthesis based on coal. The author considers the processes of chemical conversion of coal as pyrolysis, gasification and hydrogenation. The collected materials and their analysis allowed identifying the scale, as well as geographical and structural features of the main organic synthesis based on coal in some countries and in the world as a whole.
