CHARACTERISTICS OF THE URBANIZATION PROCESS IN VIETNAM RELATING TO THE COURSE OF FIRE

After over 30 years of renovation in Vietnam, the urbanization has dramatically increased with the formation of the residential areas and the multi-functional buildings which have had ability to accommodate up to ten thousands of people; the city views have significantly changed. However, during this period, there has been the mixture between the small-scale manufacturing factories and the residential areas, the residential blocks and the office ones; the urban planning has also been adjusted many times; on the other hand, the urban habitants ‘awareness of the fire prevention and fighting has not been properly attended. These characteristics increasing the number of fires, have leading to many fires caused serious damage to people and property in the urbanization process, necessary should be studied carefully and remedial measures need applying properly.
