Abstract
Existing indicators of quality evaluation criteria of metal of the case-hardened cogged details are considered and more effective criteria are offered. The role of the troostite strip, effective depth of the strengthened layer, structure and microhardness of core on durability of the case-hardened details in operation is shown. Correlation between the difference of values of microhardness of the some structural components with durability of pinion gears at stand and operational trials is established. The authors recommend to apply advanced criteria to the property evaluation of the near-surface and strengthened case-hardened layer, and structure of the core of detail with control of microhardness of the some components.
