Abstract
In this paper, an area efficient barrel shifter, which is an important module in the “digital signal processing” and “graphics applications”, is designed using quantumdot cellular automata (QCA) technology. This overview is an approach to optimizing the architecture for barrel shifter, which can be applicable to reduce design delays without significantly increasing the area. We have evaluated the performance of the design by using QCADesigner tool, in terms of complexity, area and latency. According to experimental analysis, the proposed shifter is significantly faster than the previous designed QCA shifter.
