Abstract
Cutting of material forms an integral part of the production process. Many technologies are used to cutting materials, each of which is optimally used. Each of the used technologies has advantages and disadvantages that prevent universal use. Presented paper is focused on assessment of the effect of traverse speed on surface roughness after laser cutting of non-alloy structural steel. The introductory part of the article describes the basic terminological aspects related to the solved problems. Specifically, this section is focused on the issue of laser beam cutting technology, specifying its advantages and disadvantages with regard to the assessment of surface roughness parameters. The second part describes the material and methods that were applied during the experiment. Then the experiment is described, and the Results and Discussion section evaluates the results obtained from the experiment.
