Abstract
In Mexico mipymes contribute in an essential way to both economic growth and job creation. The purpose of this paper is to locate the main characteristics of this type of companies in the commerce sector of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico from the perspective of the owner and the identification of organizational management practices for the detection of strategies that allow them to increase their competitiveness and contribute to its permanence in the market. A sample of 391 companies was studied through a data collection instrument considering a Likert scale that was grouped into three sections: a) identification of the company, b) owner information and c) organizational management information with 49 questions that included the variables associated with organizational management. The findings suggest that the components of organizational management with less favorable results are control, technologies and information systems, organization and marketing. On the other hand, the companies analyzed have better management results in the variables of finance, marketing and strategic planning.
