Abstract

For the first time one letter was leaded in the scientific treatment. The letter from Plastun Yaroslav (Yaro) Gladki was addressed to the scout master Stepan Semenyuk. The letter was dated November 24, 1928. The document was discovered by the author in the funds of the State Archives of Rivne Oblast. The aforementioned letter, copied by the bodies of state security of the Polish Police, was marked by the neck «Secret» and gave the push of the police at all levels to reconsider the role and significance of the Plast movement in the Volyn, especially as in 1928 Plast's activity as a paramilitary organization in Volyn was banned. Despite this, the Plast youth actively continued to work, following the ideals and techniques, receiving a variety of assistance from the Plast's brothers from Galicia. At the moment, the letter of Yaroslav Gladki helped to complete certain stages of the Volyn Plast's boom; gave an understanding of the perception of the Galician in Volyn; demonstrated their attitude to the Brothers-Plastuns, because Jaro was an indicator of the environment of Lviv Plast's. It so happened that the letter became an impetus, another tightening up to a thorough check, a reassessment of the influence and opportunities of the Ukrainian youth progressive environment, which quickly learned the work of the team, communicative in the struggle for the unity of Ukraine. Since the illegal situation made the Plast's youth cautiously treat the clerical documentation, which the Plast's youth hid themselves, and often and deliberately destroyed, the materials of the police actually remain the only source on which to reconstruct the events. At the same time, other important material for Plast's history should be made public. Lacking not only the textbook edition of documents, but also their scientific assessment both from the point of view of a professional historian and under the prism of practical plastun.
