Abstract

Mature cystic teratomas account for approximately 20 percentage of all ovarian tumors. Malignant transformation of these tumors is rare with squamous cell carcinoma being the commonest histological type. Here we present a case of 39 year old lady presented with abdominal mass. Ultrasound examination showed a mass of 7cm on the right adnexa of the patient. Total abdominal hysterectomy, bilateral salphingoophorectomy with right ovarian cyst excision and omentectomy done. Histopathology showed features of mature cystic teratoma with malignant transformation.
