Abstract
The article describes the period of recognition of comparative pedagogy as a science in the United States. It has been proved that this period of time falls on the 1950s and 1970s. During this period close relations of comparative studies with other social sciences such as history, philosophy, psychology, economics, law, sociology and some others are formed. On the basis of the study of American scientific and pedagogical literature, the methodology of conducting comparative-pedagogical researches is analyzed, the object, subject, purpose and tasks of comparative studies of the investigated stage are determined.
