Abstract

Aims & Objectives · To study disease pattern of lymph node on FNAC. · To establish role of FNAC as diagnostic modality in rural India. Materials and Methods A cross sectional study of 114 cases of lymphadenopathy presented to the department of pathology at Tripura Medical College and Dr. BRAM Teaching Hospital for 1 year 11 months from January 2016 to December 2017 was taken for the study. FNAC was performed with 22-24 Gauge needle and 10 ml syringe. Most smears were dried and stained with leishman stain and others were kept for Ziehl Neelsen staining whenever a diagnosis of granulomatous disease was made and also in cases where abundant necrosis and suppuration were seen. Results Most common lesion was found as Reactive lymphoid hyperplasia followed by metastatic squamous cell carcinoma.
