Abstract
The burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is increasing all over the world, thus becoming the prime cause of mortality. India is becoming a major part in the global burden of CVD with a 34% rise in prevalence in recent years while the United States (US) has seen a comparative decline of 41% in CVD cases. As India is progressing in westernization towards the US in terms of lifestyle and food habits, comparing the prevalence of CVD helps in assessing the disease progression in future years.
