KIYAFET SCIENCE AND KIYAFETNAMELER IN TURKISH LITERATURE

The physical specialities and their costume of people are a communication tool the language previous to know theır enviroment. Appearence gives information about the inner and external virtues, habits, behaviors and social specialities of people. It is known that the physical appearance of a person has been used since ancient times for the purpose of estimating and conducting ideas in character analysis. In addition, a written and oral literary form has been won in the Eastern and Western cultures. The works taken in the Turkish literature for this purpose are called kıyafetname. In our work is studied history of kıyafet science and its literary origin and is spoken to its effect to Turkısh literature. As a literary type, its important is remarked by giving examples from Arabic, Persian and Turkish literature.
