Abstract
Transcondylar fractures of the distal humerus are rarely associated with dislocations (Posada's fracture). Stabilization of this fracture is difficult because the distal fragments are small and a large portion of their surface is covered with articular cartilage. The management for this rare fracture is open reduction and stabilization with internal fixation. We studied the outcome of fixation of this rare fracture in a patient, which was also associated with a brachial artery injury. We have attained good functional range of movement at elbow and wrist with a healthy wound site. This entity is sparsely described in literature and is dreadful if managed conservatively.
