Abstract
Tobacco is the world's leading preventable cause of morbidity and death. Tobacco cessation considerably decreases the risk of dying from illnesses related to various diseases such as oral cancer, heart disease, and lung cancer. Users attempt to leave every 2 to 3 years only once and most of them do not use proven methods. Repeated, short, diplomatic counselling raises the rate of quit. This review paper summarizes distinct techniques of cessation of tobacco, symptoms of withdrawal and health benefits from cessation.
