Abstract
In the current study we review previously recorded data concerning two chalcidoid families – Eulophidae and Pteromalidae from the area of the Rhodope Mountains. Only one Pteromalidae species – Roptrocerus xylophagorum was recorded for the studied region. However, available sources show that the eulophids were extensively studied so far. Therefore, a table with references about Eulophidae including data type and number of studied taxa is given. A short list of new species for the Rhodope Mts. is also presented. Among them four eulophid and two pteromalid species are reported for the first time for the Bulgarian fauna. In conclusion, we discuss gaps in our knowledge and future perspectives for more extensive investigations.
