Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of study of the future socionomic specialists' emotional intelligence (unemployed, who are undergoing professional retraining). The classical model of abilities and mixed models of emotional intelligence, which differ in their structure and meaningful filling of the components, are considered. The role of emotional intelligence and its functions are determined. An empirical study was conducted using the techniques of the Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire by N. Hall and Emin D. Lusin. Most of the respondents were found to be emotionally aware, understanding the moods, urges and desires - both of their own and of others. They tend to be helpful, but have difficulties managing their own emotions and establishing relationships with others. The correlation analysis data confirm that there are statistically significant positive associations between almost all components of emotional intelligence obtained by both methods. Thus, the prospect of further research is to develop and implement sociopsychological training for the development of emotional intelligence' components.
