Abstract
INTRODUCTION Periosteal chondroma is a rare benign cartilage tumour originating in the periosteum. MATERIALS AND METHODS We present such a case of 52 years old male who presented with pain in right leg for 2 months duration with no palpable swelling. Radiographs showed eccentric metaphyseal osteolytic lesion with speckled calcification in distal tibia. Curettage and bone cementing was done and biopsy proved it as periosteal chondroma. RESULTS Patient had full functional recovery following surgery. There was no recurrence following surgical extirpation. CONCLUSION Periosteal chondroma is a benign tumor of cartilage cells which is well treated by curettage and bone cementing.
