A RARE CAUSE OF A COMMON PALSY

Abstract
We present a case of 65 year old male patient with grade -5 facial nerve palsy on left side for 4yrs. CT images showed a well defined cystic lesion in the deep lobe of the left parotid with extension to the skull base causing expansion of the left stylomastoid foramen with scalloping. MRI showed the lesion to be hypointense on T1 ,hynperintense on T2 and minimal peripheral enchancement on T1 contrast. Facial nerve schwannomas are rare tumours. We present you the radiological findings of this rare disease, cystic Facial nerve schwannoma. .
