Abstract
With the development of service industry, the hospitality industry now battles for Quality Service Employees. The focus of this study was to evaluate the motivation factors of employees in Club Mahindra Emerald Palms Hotel, Goa, India. Main emphasis of the study was to find out why people preferred to work for this hotel while portraying motivational factors that empowered their overall performance and also to seek if there is any disparity in motivational factors on the basis of gender. The results of the study showed that employees choose to work for this hotel due to its “attributes” - salary, job security, fringe benefits, class of the hotel and interesting jobs. Besides this, it was found that employees’ perception of motivational factors were different for males and females. Males preferred salary, job security, loyalty to employees and co-workers, while females preferred interesting jobs, working environment, co-workers and salary.
