Abstract

The social value of the family and family lifestyle was and still is very significant for society. In the history of its development, the family as a social phenomenon has always been exposed to external influ- ences.The transformation of modern society has led to a trend of institutional dysfunctionality, which is ex- plained by the growing contradictions between traditional and innovative social phenomena in society and had a negative effect on family relations, on the status of the family and the individual. Opinions of modern sociolo- gists on the situation with the institution of the family are divided. Some consider the family dysfunctionality to be a negative phenomenon, which can still be fought. Others on this issue see positive trends that activate pro- cesses, give rise to development, competition, motivate youth mobility and labor activity of citizens. In this pa- per, the author's own observations and conclusions on family dysfunction are reflected, the constructive signifi- cance of conflict situations in personality motivation is substantiated, the role of the state in developing priority directions to strengthen the family and personality status, contributing to the degree of family and individual survival in modern society is noted
