Abstract

Powder metallurgy technology requires maximum simplification of the shape of components which has a considerable effect on the design of the press mold, determining the production costs of the process as a whole, especially under the conditions of individual and small-series production. Powder metallurgy technology requires maximum simplification of the shape of components which has a considerable effect on the design of the press mold, determining the production costs of the process as a whole, especially under the conditions of individual and small-series production. Some types of components cannot be produced using conventional press molds designed usually for multiple application. In particular, they include components containing cavities of relatively complicated configurationwith projections, pockets, expansion of the volume, etc. Cavities of this type are produced using removable inserts.
