Abstract

This research work was performed using survey method. The main focus of the current research work was to obtain the correlation among learning style along with students' academic achievement at the secondary level. Randomly, around 115 students were selected for the sample. Dr. D. Venkataraman developed a tool name as SOLAT (style of learning and thinking) and has used this tool in his research work to understand as well as for measuring the students' learning style. The scores of the second internal exam in all subjects are considered as students' academic achievement. Pearson's product-moment correlation was used to find out the correlation between learning style and students' academic achievement. The linear correlation among learning style and academic achievement in Sanskrit subject were found significant in right hemispheric dominant students. But it was found that the linear correlation between learning style and academic achievement was not significant among the boys. Instead, the linear correlation between learning style along with academic achievement was found significant among right hemispheric dominant girls and their achievement in Sanskrit, Gujarati, English and Science subjects. As well as it was found that the linear correlation between whole-brain dominant girls and their Mathematics achievement was significant.
