Abstract
Desmoplastic infantile astrocytoma (DIA) is a rare (1.4 percentage) intracranial tumour that occurs in infants within the first two years of life and it is characterized by a massive, often cystic, supratentorial lesion usually in the fronto-parietal region. It has a biphasic histologic pattern with an astrocytic and desmoplastic component and have good Prognosis after total or near total surgical resection. This is a case report of desmoplastic infantile astrocytoma in a 5 months old infant female who presented with an increasing head circumference, intractable seizures and left parieto occipital SOL. Microscopically classic histology of DIA was seen.
