Abstract
The article traces changes in the health status of children of the Ryazan Baby Home during 2015–2018 in the conditions of reformation of the activities of organizations for orphans and children remained without parental care. In the article, possibilities of overcoming the negative influence of parental deprivation on development of children of the group homes are discussed. A number of modern medical, psychological, pedagogical and organizational solutions introduced in the baby home are presented: reduction of the group filling, inclusion of children with limited abilities, various-age group, stability of social environment, expansion of spectrum of therapeutic and rehabilitation methods, continuous educational programs for personnel, introduction of principles of ‘care with respect'. Effectiveness of the activity carried out within the frame of the modernization of the institution, improvement of the professional competence and satisfaction of the personnel, improvement of development of children in the social, communicative and cognitive spheres, is shown. Effectiveness of use of semi-permanent forms of support of families with disabled children, of rehabilitation center working in baby homes according to the principles and programs of early help and prevention of refusal from newborns, is considered. Characteristics of somatic health of children on admission to Baby home and in dynamics are considered. It was noted that the functioning of the Baby home increasingly acquires medical direction providing special medical care, treatment and abilitation using up-to-date complicated medical technologies. The accentuation shifts to medical abilitation and social adaptation of disabled children which requires development of the rehabilitation base and tight integration in the system of pediatric and social help.
