As one of the possible directions of reducing the risk of death at home fires, the article has been considered for use in all residential buildings of various types of fire automatic devices. To that end an analysis of the available Russian fire statistical information for the period from 2005 to 2012 was made. The analysis of the fire automatics devices in residential homes has shown that more than 50 per cent of the fire safety systems were not working condition. However the average risk of death in a residential building equipped with any of the types of fire automatic devices is almost three times lower than in homes are not equipped with fire-prevention equipment.
