Abstract

This article discusses the ethnocultural vocabulary of the Ossetian language borrowed from the Georgian language. Lexical correspondences are established on the basis of borrowings. The article considers for the first time an analysis of borrowings revealed in a specific semantic field: ethnocultural vocabulary, denoting religious ideas and rituals. The quantitative composition of borrowings identified in the Ossetian language, including Iranian languages and the Digor dialect, suggests the migration routes of Ossetian ancestors in the Caucasus region.
