The article analyzes the theoretical basis for carrying out official investigations on the facts of violations of the law in the sphere of state secrets. In addition, in the work analyzed the regulatory framework that regulates relations in the area of ​​state secrets. The article gives a clear definition of the concept of «state secret». Also defined types of information that can be classified as state secrets. The article describes the types of offenses in the sphere of state secrets protection.
