Abstract

The article shows the importance of information and technical means in ensuring the efficiency of banking activities. The system-technological environment, its structure, functionality in a complex system of banking activity is considered. The main information systems of the National Bank are highlighted, the most important system of electronic money transfers, as well as its software. It is shown, that modern information management systems will not only improve banking activity, bank management processes, but also help to make decisions in monetary policy. As to the current organizational structure of banking institutions, the article deals with domestic and foreign software products, as well as its main types are distinguished: functional organizational structure; market-oriented organizational structure: client-oriented organizational structure. The main functions of the banking information system, which perform the following automation tasks are: all intrabank operations; communication with affiliates; interaction with customers; analytical analysis of the bank's activities and the choice of optimal solutions; retail operations; interbank settlements; the bank's operations on the securities market; processes of operational receipt of the necessary information. It is shown that automation of banking institutions is carried out in two ways: creation of own information systems by purchasing and implementing a ready-made LSI. The advantages and disadvantages of these methods are presented. Among the advantages highlighted: the lack of a need for large financial investments, the possibility of continuous effective modernization of the system, the ease of implementation. Among the shortcomings highlighted: the need to maintain a large staff of developers, incompatibility of different subsystems, lagging behind the current development trends, etc. It is shown that the main task that faces the information support service in this case is the choice of optimal solution and maintenance of the workability of the selected system. The article suggests, as an alternative variant, mixed solutions, in which some of the modules of the banking information system are developed by the computer department of the bank, and some are purchased from independent producers. It is shown that when designing and choosing a banking information system it is necessary to adhere to certain principles, in particular: systemic, flexibility, functionality, scale, reliability, stability and security. It has been proved that in order to ensure stability and strengthen the financial position of commercial banks, the National Bank should make significant efforts to increase the role of information systems of commercial banks. In the organizational aspect, the information system is an integral part of the banking management system, and its structure, the composition of its functions and tasks are directly dependent on the type of organizational structure chosen by the bank.
