Abstract

The article analyzes the causes of the crisis of modern social policy. It is shown that in the 80s of the 20th century, industrialized countries faced the need to transform social policy under the influence of economic, demographic, political, social and psychological factors. The necessity of permanent mutual adaptation of the economy, politics and social sphere to the current socio-economic changes is considered. The transformation of all spheres of social activity under the influence of socio-economic changes taking place in recent years has been analyzed as a structural crisis of the welfare state at three levels: an individual, society and the state. The need to strengthen the social functions of the state under the influence of the increasing social costs of globalization has been substantiated.
