SPANISH INTELLECTUALS ABOUT CIVILIZATION CHOICE OF THE HOMELAND AT THE TURN OF THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURIES

Reflections of some Spanish intellectuals (R. de Maeztu, M. de Unamuno, C. Silio Cortes, M. Sales Ferre and others) about value of Spain's civilization choice of its further historical path at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries were presented in the article. The attention was focused on the fact that these thinkers saw solution of the “problem of Spain” and salvation of the Homeland from complete spiritual decline in social consolidation propulsive forces of which would be popular education and cultural revival.
