Abstract
Spotted fever is an emerging zoonotic disease found in many parts of India including South India, Pune, Himachal Pradesh. It is a rickettsial disease. Spotted fever group consists of large number of species Rickettsia ricketsii, Rickettsia conori etc., are transmitted from rodents and other animals through ticks. This case is a seven year old male child coming from Pollachi, Tamilnadu admitted for fever for evaluation and diagnosed as rickettsial infection with typical clinical features. This case is being presented to highlight the occurrence of spotted fever in South India and its early diagnosis which makes it curable.
